Zain Verjee Group (ZVG) has produced and directed a series of five films that will set up panel discussions for the US-Africa Business Forum hosted by President Obama in Washington D.C. on August 4th-6th. ZVG partnered with Bloomberg Philanthropies over the past eight weeks, travelling through at least ten countries in Africa to bring the business success stories, innovations and transformational ideas to light. The high level event is geared towards strengthening businesses and promoting new opportunities between the US and Africa. Attendees will include President Barack Obama, former Mayor of New York Michael Bloomberg, along with heads of state in Africa.
Both American and African business leaders were interviewed for the project along with heads of state including Kenya’s Uhuru Kenyatta, Ghana’s John Mahama, Ivory Coast’s Alassane Outtara, Liberia’s Ellen Johnson Sirleaf and Algeria’s Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal. Each of the five films addresses a different focus: An overview, Finance and Capital Markets, Infrastructure and ICT, Partnerships and the future generation’s entrepreneurial dreams.
